Lets terraform back to
green

Trees, vegetation and algae create the oxygen that
we all need for life. Yet these critical parts of our natural world
are being destroyed at increasing rates.
A website,
www.10ba.org, claims that in the last 500 years, 10 billion acres of
forest have been removed by mankind and that less than 10% of our
original forests still exist. Amazon rain forests are being removed
for farmland but to the surprise of many, the areas cleared quickly
become desert. The Amazon risks becoming a savanna rather than a
rain forest.
An NREL scientist
speaking at UCCS last fall stated that 30% of our increase in carbon
dioxide can be attributed to the loss of forests.
Planting and nurturing trees are a sure way to
absorb CO2in the air and produce
oxygen. Please help us by contributing your time and/or money to
plant trees.

Sign up to plant
We are scheduling tree planting opportunities in
the Pikes Peak region. Locations may include the Haymen Burn, Air
Force Academy, City of Colorado Springs, Ft. Carson and other
areas.
When plantings have
been arranged, we will contact you. Planting dates will likely be in
April and May. A schedule is below. Please scroll down to sign

Donate for planting
You
can donate to the cause whether you can plant on not.
Donations will allow
us to buy tree seedlings from the Colorado State Forest Service.
Please donate or commit as soon as possible so tree orders can be placed.
|
Provide a place to plant
If you have a place where quantities of trees
can be planted or know of a place that needs trees such as a local
park, please let us know.
